So yea, I don't know if it's the Displayport port on the desktop/monitor or whether it's something else. When I connect the monitor to my laptop using HDMI, it works fine. I have tried adjusting (loweing) the resolution but still no go. I have plugged in a second monitor using VGA and can see that the monitor is picked up.
